Auto body repair & detailing: paint job, quality paint job, bmw 325xi

I was hoping you could give me some details on getting a paint job.  I am looking to buy a preowned BMW 325xi, but cannot find it in the color I want out here.  I am wondering what a ballpark figure is for a good paint job.  There are some 325xi's available in the color I want in other places, so I am wondering if it would make sense to buy the car I want and ship it, or buy one in the wrong color and have it painted.  The shipping costs look to be around 1400-1500, so the question is can I get a high quality paint job for less than that?  What is a general range for a high quality paint job?

Maybe I can help you. The cost of changing colors on a vehicle is around 3500 dollars because under hood,decklid, doorjams have to be painted also.I personally have not seen many of those jobs come out flawless.. In your letter you sound like a person that knows exactly what you want so you prob. wont like an allover change of color. Besides the value of the car will go down dramatically from the factory color not being on the vehicle. Not to mention chipping, dirt in the paint fading and all the rest that comes from not having factory applied paint.as far as ordering a car I would allways look at it first before buying ,sellers always tell you the good not the bad.
