Auto Parts: spearco, power adder, profitable course

Question
do you have any idea where i can find anyinfo on a old spearco turbo kit for the rabbit i have one im wanting to install in my 82 pup

Answer
Truth be told, I recently sold some books on old VW mods that might have had the info in them.  But, they're long gone.  Spearco was, for a brief time, hooked up with Shelby.  So, it's possible, but not likely, that they would be able to help you.  I think that your best bet, if you're really interested in cars and understanding them and how they work, would be to buy the book "Turbochargers" by Hugh MacInnes(?).  It's published by HP Books and available on Amazon at a very reasonable price.  Armed with the info in this book you should be able to install and tune your turbo, even make modifications to increase its output.  Keep in mind that adding a power-adder (as they call them nowadays) such as a turbo, blower, or nitrous system is going to put a lot more strain on the engine.  If it's old or carelessly rebuilt something will break.  Of course, breaking stuff is how you learn to build engines, so you'll be engaged in a profitable course of action.
