Car Alarms: Truck anti-theft now activated!, tow truck operator, gm ford

Question
Hi, I purchased a 2003 Navigator from a salvage yard a few months ago an the truck started with no problem but recently I needed to have it moved to storage an the tow truck operator was trying to put it in gear an now it doesn't start. He managed to put the truck in gear now but car still doesn't start. I look to see if any fews were damage but wasn't, an the owners manual says it my anti-theft is now on. I now here a clicking sound by the passenger airbag an the light I can only remove my key if I unhook the battery. I read another person wrote to you about their trailblazer an to look under the steering wheel for a valet parking button, does that same function work on a Lincoln navigator.  PLEASE HELP!!!

Answer
GM & Ford/Lincoln have little to no similarities when it comes
to this issue, so no, that will not apply here.

In yours, a bypass kit is going to be needed or, you can go
to Ford and have them reset the PATS, but that will NOT correct the
situation if the same thing happens.
There you are, stuck again!

What you will likely need here is to render
the PATS inert for good, is to install the PKFM bypass module
from ALARMTEK (www.FORDPATS.com)

This will keep the PATS (FORD'S PASSIVE ANTI THEFT SYSTEM)
grounded out, and allow for the seemless use of the ignition
switch, but will no longer have the security it once had.
It's safe, but will leave the truck vulrnerable
to theft if you do ont install an aftermarket
security device to pick up he slack.

These modules are available along with the notes needed
to accomplish your project.

Have a good Labor day.
