Question
Your question was

Please help..I have a 2001 Dakota with a factory "security" system. I lost the
key fob about 2 years ago and I recently opened the door and the alarm went off.
First time I've ever heard it. Someone must have had the same frequecy that I
had and armed it. Now, "security" flashes on the dash everytime I close the
door. I have had to get ghetto and undo the positive side of the battery before
opening the door. Please help, how do I reset

Answer
The responce was honest. Not a scam.
Been doing this volunteer advice work on this site
since 2003, so maybe you can lighten up some?

Blame Dodge, I did not create this problem.

The DODGE DAKOTA for 2001 uses
a transponder that I can not supply info to bypass on.
True. Not lying. It requires a visit to Dodge for a reset
reprogram.

By telling you that it's out of my experience,
means just that.

Sorry you are not happy. Maybe replacing the remotes you
lost 2 years ago at the dealeship would solve the issue?

That's where I'd start.
