Car Alarms: Grand Am Starting Issues, resistance level, passlock ii

Question
My daughter has a Grand Am 2001 and it too has the starting issue due to pass lock.  We did the key reset thing and that worked for a bit and now that doesn't let it start anymore.  My husband saw the resistor "fix" and did that method and it worked for about 3 weeks and again the car won't start.

Do you have a real patch/fix for this so she is stranded and left vulnerable someplace at work at night etc??

Thanks

Answer
Well, the "fix" he used is a temporary one
at best :>( . It will get the fuel rail to operate,
but the resistance level will float, and become
unreliable, as you seem to have found out.
Thus not allowing the normal starting sequence.

The IB PLJX bypass kit is the module I'd use
here, but the trouble is the car's engine MUST
start before the module can be programmed.
If he goes back in again, re do the PASSLOCK II
relays and resistors bypass to get it started,
then you can add the module to keep PASSLOCK inert.

No guarnaties as this is designed to circumvent
momentarilly for the PASSLOCK II to allow for remote
starting, but we've had great (90%) success with
using it as a permanent bypass as well.

If you want to try it, go to
www.GMPASSLOCK.com and get yours.
They are in stock and ready to ship.

Should do the job you are looking
to accomplish.

Good luck.
