Car Alarms: frontera2.5 1996 immobiliser, alarmtek, dash area

Question
QUESTION: when I put my key in, the alarm go of and the car won't start .This started very suddenly how can I fix it

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: It is a factory alarm.
It has the lights flashing, horn honking but no security word on dash. There is a chip in the key which should deactivate the immobiliser when inserted into the ignition. I thought it might be a fault in my key, but I've tried my wife's key and it still doesn't work. Hope this is helpful.John.

Answer
Then it's on to the dealer I suspect at this point.
The vehicle's immobilizer is no longer "reading" the keys
codes any longer.

Nothing you can do on your own I am afraid.
The dealer will need to reset/ re write the codes.

Sorry about that.
