Car Alarms: car alarm kills battery, diesel mechanic, starter wire

Question
I am a heavy diesel mechanic with specialties in electric and electronic systems. However, this problem is not within my range of expertise. My mother had a remote start car alarm installed. It is a Toad A101. Now a few years later the car battery goes dead if the alarm is used to lock the doors. I thought maybe a bad relay ( if they are used ). I have no info what-so-ever on this system. Do you have any suggestions as to where I might start diagnosis? Do you know of a web site I can down load wiring and install diagrams from? Should I simply remove the faulty system?  Thanking you in advance,  Clyde

Car Alarms: car alarm kills battery, diesel mechanic, starter wire
actuators
Ok Clyde if wanting to salvage it,
I would go to the doors first to see if
relays were indeed installed along with after
market actuators.

Next, locate the starter wire on the ignition harness for
a relay used for starter kill. Remove if found, and re attach
the free ends of the starter relay. No more relays unless
the trunk/bonnet was added. That will solve the alarm issue,
but leave it deffensles and without keyless entry. :>(

I don't know the Toad line, but do have a UK/IRELAND tech
who can  likely assist with that powermyster@hotmail.com
(DARREN POWER)

Start by locating the after market system brain,
and trace to the relays.

If not, pull it, repair wiring and remove any
relay inline on the starter.

Cheers!
