Car Alarms: Keyless Entry sets up Factory Alarm, drainage issues, phoenix 2

Question
I have been reading through your site trying to figure this out, cause it should be relatively easy I believe, but I cannot find the answer anywhere. I have a 1998 Rodeo that had an aftermarket alarm installed. I figured it would be better to have a "professional" do it, but they did a terrible job. When you use the keyless entry on the aftermarket alarm, you set off the factory alarm(horn and lights) until you disarm alarm with the key. I removed the housing around the steering wheel column and it is an Avital Phoenix 2. Unfortunately, Avital/Clifford was bought out and the new owner will not give me the install instructions. I was hoping you could help me solve this problem. Some have suggested grounding the blue/yellow disarm wire, but if I do this, dont I lose the factory alarm features? Also it has been suggested to run a wire connecting the unlock factory wire to the unlock aftermarket wire. Does this sound right? Let me know if you need any other info from me.
The only reason I am trying not to pay for someone to do this for me, is because I already paid this shop and they screwed up this install along with the radio/amp install. After battling with them to solve the battery drainage issues, I removed the whole radio/amp/speakers and reinstalled it my self. Now its all good:) Im capable, i was just opting to have a "professional" do it, but as usual, if you want something done right you better do it yourself. Also, I had a mechanic repair a serpentine belt while my truck was there for routine maintenance, which ended up breaking the pulley. I had already paid and ended up having to fix it myself. Turns out the guy put on whatever belt he had on hand which was 2-3" shorter than the one I purchased at the auto parts store. Crazy how some simple things can be such a headache. So Im hoping I can end the bad luck streak and finish the last thing that was installed incorrectly.
Thanks to anyone that can help.
