Car Alarms: Car Wont Start due to Factory Alarm, 2006 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
I am the owner of a 2006 Nissan Altima and just recenlty replaced the battery. Now my car wont start and I have been told that it may because of the factory alarm and it wont allow me to start the car. I've called a few places and they wont give me any feedback other then telling me to tow my car in. I know it's gotta be a simple fix of disarming the alarm or something to that effect. Does this sound like a common problem with this type of car and can you tell me how I will be able to start my car should this be the case? Thanks.

Answer
No, the issue they are refering too is the
Nissan "smart key" imobilizor. The problem is not
all that common, but should be under warranty for your car.
The towing show be like AAA so it does not cost you,
but Nissan should cover that reset.

The trouble here is that the key is not "talking"
to the reader in the ignition switch, allowing
for remote start. This means that they will need to
find out why, and reset it.

Sorry, but in this case, they kinda have the
upper hand if you want it done correctly.

Good luck.
