Car Stereos: faceplate is dead on my pioneer cd deck for my car, internal fuse, pioneer service

Question
I have a Pioneer premier  deh-p780mp

The lcd went out about a month ago but the unit still worked and played cd's

Now the faceplate is completely dead!  it still flips out whenever i turn the car off, but the face plate will not power up or play music.

Is there a fuse inside or is the unit just dead??

thanks for your help

Answer
Hi Ben,

I don't think there's an internal fuse, or any separate fuse for the head unit display.  My guess is that there's a problem with the ribbon cable between the motorized faceplate and the body of the head unit.  This always seems to be a weak point with motorized faceplate decks.  If you contact an authorized Pioneer service center, I suspect that this will be a problem they've seen before.

Hope this helps!
