QUESTION: I have a 2005 Monte Carlo, what's the best place to run the power cable for the amp?

ANSWER: Hi T,

It makes most sense usually to run the power wires along the side underneath the plastic door sill, and the RCAs on the opposite side underneath the plastic door sills.

QUESTION: Thanks but I was meaning getting the wire through the firewall, the battery is on the passenger side?

I'd suggest then running it alongside the fender and then along the firewall, and down near where the steering linkage passes through the firewall.  Look around that area, and you should find some premade holes in the firewall (they use the same chassis on different cars with different options, and never use all of the holes), and you should find a hole with nothing in it but a rubber grommet.  Pull the grommet out, and make a hole in it the width of your power cable.  Then, replace the grommet by fishing the power wire through.
