Car Stereos: Car stereo doesnt work all of the time, electrical fire, safety purposes

I have a 99 Infiniti G-20.  Recently, the radio will work the majority of the time, but sometimes will not work when the car is first started.  It seems after 5 or so minutes it comes on.  There is no power whatsoever (no clock, cd will not pop out) and I also noticed my side mirrors would not move.  Once the radio came back on, my mirrors started working also.

It sounds like you have an issues that's best suited for a mechanic.  Specifically because the mirrors are acting up at the same time.  You could have a small short or a bad wire connection that's making contact when it heats up and expands.

More importantly, that lost power could be going away inside the car behind the dash somewhere in the form of heat, and cause an electrical fire in your car.

I would suggest pulling out the radio fuse and visiting your local mechanic to have them look at it.

Make sure you tell them you've pulled the fuse for safety purposes so they don't replace it and think they've fixed your problem. :)
