Car Stereos: AM Radio Static, gmc envoy, abs sensor

I have a 2002 GMC Envoy.  I'm getting static on AM stations only when I apply the brakes.  I'm not having a problem with any FM reception.

Congratulations, in all my years, that is possibly the weirdest thing I've ever heard. :)

That said, I'm not entirely sure there's much you can do about it since the likely scenario is some interference coming from either your abs sensor or interference somewhere in the electrical system.  Unfortunately, the best thing I can suggest is pulling your deck out, making sure the connections are clean and as shielded as possible from other wires.
