Question
i have a pioneer deck in my 99 grand am, that is run to 2 MTX road thunder subs and a 1000 watt amp i got off a buddy, everthing has run great since we installed in, but all of a sudden the subs will not work,  on my deck i have the sub on but am not receivng any response.  i checked my subs, the amp, my rca's, my power fuse and weverything seems to be checking go and the amp shows to have power.  could this just be a problem from my deck? please help  thanks!

Answer
Hi Greg,

If the amp is on and the red light is coming on, the most likely scenario is that the amp has died or has gone into protect mode.

Disconnect all speakers from it and then reconnect only one on one channel in non-bridged mode.  If the sound comes back, you can troubleshoot from there (if a subwoofer has blown, it might be providing less than the rated impedance and the amp is trying to protect itself from frying).

If sound doesn't come back, you're probably looking at a dead amp.
