Car Stereos: 2005 envoy rear speakers, rear speakers, bose system

my wife made me aware that rear speakers not working at all. checked all obvious.  do i need a reset code or take to dealer(trying not to).  headphone jacks in rear seats work.

So when you set the fader on the stereo to rear, and disconnect any headphones back there, there's no audio at all?

Is it the factory deck, and does it have the Bose system?  This introduces more possibilities, like amplifier problems.

Another thing to check, is if the factory deck has a setup menu.  Sometimes those have the ability to change rear outputs to subwoofer outputs, which may not work with the frequency your speakers are trying to hit.

I realise this answer may not be much help to you, but if you can provide more information on it, I might be able to dig up some more info.  (Which Envoy is it?  Just the Envoy or the Envoy XL/XUV, etc.)
