Car Stereos: wire question, chevy tahoe, power antenna

Question
QUESTION: I WANT TO INSTALL A AMP IN A CHEVY TAHOE 04 I NEED TO KNOW WHAT COLOR IS THE REMOTE WIRE IN THE STEREO ITS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY STEREO?

ANSWER: Hey Martin

Typically, in a chevy, the pink wire is remote turn on.  They use it from the factory to put the power antenna up and down.  If you don't have a pink wire in there, you might have to use the yellow wire, which is the ignition wire.  This way the amp will turn on when you turn your car on (or your ignition).  If that's the only wire you have but you don't want the amp to turn on every time you turn your ignition or car on, you can extend  wire and put a toggle switch on it.  After you mount the switch, you can turn your radio and amp on with a switch.  There are a lot of ways to do it.

Let me know if you need help

Thanks!

QUESTION: IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG LIKE IF IT DOES A LITTLE SHORT IS IT TRUE THAT THE AIR BAGS WILL POP OUT?

Answer
The stereo harness should be completely separate from the airbag harness.  The wires used in the stereo harness have nothing to do with any of the other systems in the car.  If you're unsure as to which harness you're using, I'd suggest hiring a professional.  Popping your airbags is a very expensive lesson.
