Car Stereos: No sound in one speaker Chrysler Voyager, chrysler voyager, infinity system

Question
Dear Sir. I have 96 Grand Voyager with infinity system. I replaced the OEM radio with a unit from Pioneer. The problem is that the left front speakers are not working. With the OEM radio there were poor sound, but now there is no sound. I have checked the wiring from the radio and it's ok. I connected an aftermarket speaker, and still no sound. I tried the left speaker on the right side and it worked (still poor sound, so I think the speaker is broken too.I suspect there is poor signal to the left side, but the speakers are not connected directly to the radio, I suspect. I think it is connected via some relay or something. I would really like to fix this, but do not know where to start. I would appreciate any help on this matter

Answer
Hi Fredrik.

First of all that system works with 2ohm speakers, so if you replaced the speaker or if it has been replaced for a conventional 4ohm speaker, you are getting poor sound because you are cutting the power on the amplifiers in half so try replacing the bad speakers with 2ohm speakers.
you can also check if the amplifier has a damaged output that might be the cause too

Good Luck!

Ed.
