Car Stereos: Mazda Protege 1997 cassette radio re-install, sony cd player, radio cassette player

Question
Hi, a friend of mine removed the factory installed radio/cassette player and installed a sony CD player for me, which promptly stopped working after 1 month.  When I pulled it out all the wires had come unconnected.  Now, I am trying to just put the factory installed radio back in.  The problem is this one thick black wire that doesn't seem to connect to anything.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

Answer
Every auto manufacturer uses a (+) positive electric
signal from the radio to the power antenna, EXCEPT
Mazda i dont know what years they used this. Mazda, instead, used a (-)
negative electric signal to trigger the power antenna.
When the radio turned on, the radio would send a (-)
negative electric signal to the power antenna and the
power antenna would raise. When the radio or the
vehicle was turned off, the electric signal would stop
and the power antenna would lower.
i dont know if this is the wire you are talking about.

on newer radios im thinking that could be the ground wire, it should Slide into the brown female tab spade connector that originally snapped into the tab on the rear of the factory radio.
if everything else fails i would ask your friend where did that wire came from. he might be able to tell you

I hope this helps.
