Car Stereos: Buzzing sound in speakers after going over hump, nissan 180sx, question thanks

Question
QUESTION: Hi, I have a Pioneer 9650MP with Blaupunkt velocity speakers in my 89 Nissan 180SX. Recently I went over a road hump a little bit faster than usual and right after that I heard something sounding like a "pop", followed by a constant buzzing sound which refuses to go away. Any thoughts?

regards,
Sean

ANSWER: Hi Sean.

I would check for a bad ground maybe it came looseand might be the cause of that buzzing noise, check all the wiring in general and make sure you have good contacts.
check if all the speakers are playing, if one or more its not then, a wire on the speaker came loose causing the radio to short out.

Good Luck!.

QUESTION: Thanks for the help Ed :)

Will do the checks ASAP. Btw, I read somewhere online that something like a capacitor in the HU might have blown from the bump or short. What are your thoughts on that? (crosses fingers)

regards,
Sean

Answer
Im sorry Sean im not a repair technician but, ive never heard of a HU having a capacitor....A capacitor its used to
store current, not to build radios. but then again i have no idea what would be the components of a radio so dont listen to me on this one i might be wrong :)
