Car Stereos: GM door chime module, silverado 2500hd, door chime

Question
I have a 2003 Silverado 2500HD. I have my remote wire for my amp spliced off of a wire that goes to the module. Today i decided to install a switch to shut off my amp when i want to. I have a ground, the remote wire off of the wire to the harness, and the remote wire to go to the amp. While i had all 3 of these coming through the hole, i moved something and they all touched. so in essence it was the red wire going into the harness getting grounded and also going to my amp all at the same time. a noise came out of my speakers that was comparable to the sound the subs make when i turn the truck on, and also my deck (sony) made the chimes the sony deck makes when you turn the vehicle off.

everything still worked so i thought nothing of it. hooked up the switch, buttoned everything up. the switch worked fine. so i went to get out of the vehicle... took the key out, opened the door, and now my deck won't turn off. its supposed to turn off when you open the door. what have i done? i really hope someone can help me with this.

thank you.

Answer
Hi Ray.

You probably burned a relay or the gm module check fuses relays (make sure you disconnect the battery if you are going to take a relay off else you will fry them when putting them back on) if everything else fails try replacing the module im almost positive thats gonna be your problem.
