NASCAR Racing: Pepsi 400 Nascar Race, nascar pepsi 400, daytona speedway

Question
Greetings Julianna!

My adult daughter and I will be attending our first Nascar Pepsi 400 race on July 7, 2001, at Daytona Beach, Fl (we're flying in from California). I've always liked racing and my daughter has been an die-hard fan since she was born so we're very excited about this trip. We got the tickets at the last minute so the package didn't include a pit pass. There is no way we can leave the race without an autograph or two, so I called the Daytona Speedway to inquire how we might get in. They told me about an "Infield Admission" Ticket that could be purchased there, and then upgraded. Since I've personally never been to a race before (and my daughter has never been in a pit area), could you give us a little insight on this, or any other suggestions on obtaining a few autographs?  Thank you so much!

Answer
Hi darlene,
Well congrats on being able to attend , you'll have a blast !!! One thing about being in the pits or infield is call and ask these questions !! Normaly you cant wear shorts in the pits or infield !! Rules might have changed, but check to be sure , you dont want to get there and not be allowed in !!! As far as getting autos best thing to do is get there early and walk around the field area or pit area and if you see any drivers just ask most will be more then happy to sign !!! Also too as far as it used to be the infield doesnt have seats so bring chairs , cooler , blankes just incase , maybe even an umbrella !! For shade !!! But as always ask or call around to see what the rules maybe for everything , each track is different !! Good Luck and Congrats, Julie !
