BMW Repair: 2002 BMW 325i window fell off track, thin steel wire, 2002 bmw 325i

Question
My wifes cousin slammed our car door shut one time and it hasn't worked right since. I managed to take the door panel off but have no idea what I'm doing. What I did notice is that there is a thin steel wire that looks like it's not wrapping around like it's suppose to. I'm thinking about taking off the window motor to see if I can fix it. Thing is, I don't know how it's suppose to look like. The last seven digits of the Vin# EE77619. Hope to hear some feedback soon, thanks!

Answer
Richard, replace window regulator (lifter mechanism)and mounting nuts with improved lock nuts. Passenger front window regulator is Part number 51 33 7 020 660. Replace five mounting nuts with lock nuts PN 07 14 7 152 450. Remove the window motor (t-30 torx). Slide window up until you can access the 8mm headed bolt through the front metal rail to detach the window from the front regulator slider. Careful not to loose the black nut when removing the 8mm bolt. Slide the window to the top of the window frame and with masking tape, tape the window over the top of the door to hold it there. Remove the mounting nuts for the regulator. Cut the zip tie on the top cable and replace when installing new unit. Remove the white clip on the lower cable. Replace regulator and nuts. Slide window into regulator and tighten bolt. Install motor, connector, zip tie, and put cable into white clip. Replace grey foam vapor barrier if torn (causes water leak in footwell). You can take it from there.
