BMW Repair: 1994 530i (04/94 mfg date) belts adjustment, belts, mechanic

I changed the drive and a/c belts and they seem to be a little loose. can you suggest how to adjust/tighten them ?

Mark, I usually use a 1/2" to 3/4" of an inch deflection. 3/4" on longer belts and 1/2" for shorter belts. They need to be reasonably tight. If there isn't a tensioner on the belt drive then one of the components will be made to swivel in and out to adjust tension. Have a reliable mechanic check your work if you are unsure
