BMW Repair: 325is Loss of power accessories, amp fuse, fyse

Question
I spent the evening pulling the driver's side door panel and checking all connections. I disconnected the door switch, window switch, micro switches all plug connections and tried a fuse after every disconnect. It would still blow. I didn't get to checking grounds under drivers side dash. That's tomorrow. Any other ideas. Thanks for your last answer.

Since I wrote the previous question, I went back and checked fuses again. The #7 fuse is blown and blows right when you put it in. It is one of the 3 fuses that is associated with the central locking system. It is a 5 amp fuse. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like it goes to driver side door switch. You also mentioned to check grounds. Is that the ground off the battery or are there other grounds for these accessories. If so where do I find there location?

I have a 1993 325is. My sunroof started working off and on. Then power locks and windows went out at the same time. Interior light doesn't come on when you open doors. I've checked fuses and replaced all of them associated with any of these items. Could it be a rely or door micro switch

Answer -
I would look at the grounds as that is how the interior switch works ,it ground s and comes on.I would look at a wiring diagram to determine if it is a relay or not.The locks are run by a module and if the locks open and close to many times in a row it will blow the internal fyse causing them not to work. Checking the poer at the switches would let you know if it is blown or not.

Answer -
Finding a fuse that blows as soon as it is installed is a great start.Checking the circuit by removing the switch before you install would elimiate the switch. The grounds are mainly located thwere but check under the drivers dash pad for more grounds(remember they are brown wires)

Answer
With all the switches that you disconnected did you leave them disconnected then try a fuse or did you disconnect, put the fuse in,and reconnect each item?Discoonect all and then try a fuse,as it must be costing a mint for the fuses as they keep blowing. You mentioned a 5 amp fuse, they are usually for a lighting circuit. When a fuse blows is because the curcuit is overloaded.Trace you wiring diagram to that circuit.
I did mention grounds but I don't think you have a ground problem you have power grounding problem. You power supply in #7 is going directly to ground that is why it is blowing shorting the system out.
Look again at you diagran and chase it down from there.Good luck
