BMW Repair: 1999 BMW 528i - Electrical??, seatbelt light, vanity mirror

Question
Out of the blue I noticed that my fasten seatbelt light was not going off even though my belt was buckled. Later that same day the Airbag light came on and the next time I started the car the Automatic Transmission light came on. I pulled over, turned off the car as per the instruction manual says to do but the lights did not go off. I did not experience any loss of performance and or any abnormalities while driving. I also noticed that I lost power to the multifunction steering wheel buttons(IE - Stereo and cruise controls). Today I stopped at a light and used the driver's side vanity mirror. This triggered the steering wheel to move up and down as if I were turning on/off the car and the seatbeat and airbag lights turned OFF. I also regained control of the multifunction steering wheel buttons. The Automatic Transmission light, however, stayed on. If I close the mirror and open it again the seatbels and airbag lights come back on and I lose the steering wheel functions. I know this must sound crazy...but do you think this is an electrical issue? Are all these functions on the same fuse? What do you think?

Thanks for you help!

Answer
What the hell is wrong with your car???  Just joking..;o)
That is definately an electrical problem...Did you have anything after market wired into the car recently or in the past?  If you did you should take it out.  That sounds like some wires are fried or grounding out somewhere and you really should have someone look at it.
