BMW Repair: BMW 328ia E46 1998, performance chip, european model

Hey Ronald!

My 3 series is a european model since I live in Sweden. I have read that alot of people have the same problem as I have.
when I start out in morning the car kinda lurches a little.. feels like its not getting enough gas then getting gas.. a little swinging feeling. even efter I have driven the car then parked it for awhile it does the same thing when ever starting out or driving at slow speeds, almost like there is a flat spot  in the programming of the chip. many say change your spark plugs, or upgrade your programing. I have been to BMW and they upgraded the software but they problem has come back again.

what do you think I should do? upgrade to a  performance chip? there is quite a big difference in how the car runs after. but is costs quite a bit more to.

any ideas?

A performance chip might help mask the problem but as you say it will up your running costs.The surging could be caused by any number of sensers, fuel, egr problems that would have to be painstacking elimiated one by one.
There is no common cure for your symptoms.
