Questionhi
i have a 91 integra ls 5speed and when i start it up everything runs
fine but accept when i go in to 2nd gear i feel the car grinds realy
loud and its sometimes hard to put in to 2nd gear. Sometimes when i drive
the car the 2nd gear does not grind but 30 to 40 minutes driving the
car it will start to grine realy loud. Also in the morning or when my car
has not warmed up yet the 2nd gear will grind when driven. The grind is
a off and on thing, it will grind when it wants but it seems to be
getting really bad and its mostly the 2nd gear. And another thing when i
try to go in to 2nd gear from 30-40 mph, a slow down like a "down shift"
you could say it just grinds really loud and wont let me go in to 2nd
gear at all. So if you could help it would be much needed!!!
Answersounds like the tranny is toast. the gear set can be replaced, but it is an involved job.
you should take it somewhere and have it looked at and let them give you some options. i really can't say anything for this type of problem without hearing it.
