Alfa Romeo Repair: 67 Alfa - Starter Removal, alfa spider, starter removal

Question
We need to replace the starter and solenoid on our '67 Alfa Spider.  Any hints on the easiest way to get it out?  Do we have to remove the carburetors?
Thanks so much for your help!

Answer
I apologize for the delay.

If it is the earlier 101 series then it is removed at the rear of the front wheel.

If it is a 105 series: remove the distributor and after removing the bolts in the starter turn it upside down and work your way out in front of the carbs.

Are you sure it is not a ground wire or ignition switch problem...
