American Motors: 1964 Rambler Classic 770, wheel cylinder, bolts

Question
I can't figure out how to remove the rear drum on my '64 Classic 770.  It has a leaking wheel cylinder, but I can't get the drum off to change it.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Answer
The drum is probably rusted to the axle hub. Saturate the area where the drum & hub meet (right in the center)with a good rust penetrant. Use a hammer to gently tap around the solid area of the drum towards the middle, that's where it contacts the hub. This will loosen up the rust. Some drums had two threaded holes, 180 degrees apart where you can thread in two bolts; though I forget what size. This allows you to slowly thread in the bolts to release the drum from the hub. There is also a generic puller you can use to remove the drum, but if used improperly can damage the drum.
You do NOT have to remove the large nut in the middle of the hub to remove the drum.
