American Motors: A.M.C. Cars. Are they VERY easy to repair?, amc vehicles, amc cars

Question
I read you instructions and IT says to ask about AMC cars.
It could be that you might be able to help me.

I would like to know what you think is the easiest car to fix is, besides an old VW bug. I have limited funds and limited working space. Are anyu of the old AMC cars super easy to work on? Or would you suggest another brand of car? I'm looking for the smallest and least expensive to repair car I can find. I would appriciate any and all suggestions.

Thank You.

Answer
The question you ask is very subjective. I think AMC vehicles are easy to work on. But I have worked on them for many years. I also think Toyotas are easy to work on, but once again, I have worked on them for 22 years.
I would not recommend you buying an AMC if you have limited funds. They no longer make any AMC vehicles and replacements parts can be expensive and difficult to find.
I would recommend a Toyota Corolla or Tercel. You can find a 10-12 year old one for less than $3000 and requires little work. Parts are plentiful and they are easy to work on. Any car built later than 1985 is probably going to have fuel injection and computer controls. It all boils down to how much do you want to spend?
