Audio Systems: Camry 2008 factory radio pinout., volt ohm meter, 2008 camry

Question
I saw your excellent guidance at allexperts.com. I have the pinout for the 2 standard jacks as described, but in my radio there are an additional 10 pin and 20 pin jacks. I suspect these might be either pre-amp and steering wheel controls, but probably have the possibility of an AUX input, since the unit does have an Aux button combination.

The radio came off a 2008 Camry since a co-worker upgraded to a OEM radio and I want to install this radio in another vehicle. The Toyota number is 86120-06181.

I hope you can help.

Answer
There are several possibilities for the stock factory radio in the Camry.  Some are made by Fujitsu Ten, some from JVC and others.  The jacks could be for addition of cd changer or external power amps and for other car electronic connections....

This diagram may solve your problem entotal:

but if not you can proceed to the options below.

I think you should go to Cructhfield Outfit Your Car and let them guide you to the proper wiring harness and other connections and compatible equipment at:

http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/autoinfo/autoinfo.asp?lp=%2fapp%2fCar%2fMyCar...

From that information you can find out what the wiring configuration is for the radio.

I recommend for custom jobs such as you are thinking to use a volt/ohm meter to actually trace out the wires, mark them with a piece of tape and write on the tape the description of the wire.
