Audio Systems: Stereo wiring questions, interface wires, wiring questions

Question
I have a friend that just got a 2006 Jeep Liberty and they got some subs and an amp to put in it.  They are wanting to keep the factory CD player and they got the interface box that has the wires with the little clips that just fasten onto the wires coming out of the back of the radio.  The interface wires call for gray and gray/white and green and green/white (I think, which ever are the rear speakers(.  The problem is the factory wiring has completely different colors.  I've done the whole car stereo thing on a few vehicles before, but not using the interface with the stocker.  I was wanting to know which wires should be hooked to which, and which wire the amp turn on should be fastened to or if that needs to be jumped to something else.  Any help will be appreciated.  Thanks.

Answer
With a public question all I can do is tell you that clip on's are crap and about as far from professional as you can get. The only thing worse would be using high level inputs on the amplifiers, which it sounds like IS the case here.
I could not endorse or support either of these ideas.
