Audio Systems: audio wirring, infinity sound, amp input

Hi I have a 97 dodge intrepid with a infinity sound system. I had removed the stock amp and cut two red wires I did not disconnect the battery. and I heard a pop come from inside the car. I checked all the fuses they are good my radio works but now I have no sound at all please help me

You will need to troubleshoot the system and find out what went wrong. You may have scorched the power wiring to the amp or some such thing.

The site above is has  a wiring chart to help you identify where the wires should be going.

Best thing to do now is make sure you have 12v at the amp input and that the amp is working. You can check voltages with a basic vom (from Walmart @ $9.83 in electrical department). If voltages are there and speaker wires are connected you may have to pull the amp and test it outside the car to make sure it is working right.
