Audio Systems: OPTIMUS 24 DISK CD DECK, laser lens, radio shack

THE UNIT WILL NOT PLAY A CD. IT WILL SHUFFLE TO THE SELECTED CD BUT THEN I GET AN ERROR CODE IN THE DISPLAY WINDOW   M - ERROR   I HAVE 2 OF THESE UNITS AND THEY ARE BOTH DOINGING THE SAME THING ?         HELP HELP HELP  THANK YOU  ROB

The first thing is clean the laser lens mechanism. Get a lens cleaner from any big box retailer (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.) and follow the instructions. I use a Maxell very effectively.

If the errors persist, Radio Shack has an own-product virtually eternal repair program. Take the unit into RS and they'll get a tech to scope out the problem and cost the solution. I can't imagine it's free, but I don't know what their fee schedule is, which probably varies by market.
