Audio Systems: Amp wont turn on, head deck, factory stereo

Question
i have 1 amp running all 4 speakers. ''my amp wont turn on''. i checked the fuses on the amp and they are fine. so when the amp wont turn on, i dont get any sound, but the head deck says that it is running fine. when i was experimenting i noticed that my amp 'does' turn on when i attach my remote wire to the ignition/accessories wire (but i then cannot change the volume). i also cannot tune into any radio station and if i set it to 96.1 (with my amp on) i dont hear anything.
i own a mitsubishi lancer 2000 model.
the head deck, amp and speakers are about 6 months old.

Answer
Hello,
What kind of head deck do you have. Is it factory or aftermarket. Make and Model?
Normally there is a remoter wire on the head deck that you connect the remote wire from the amp to. If you are using a factory stereo some times its not that easy.

Its sound a little strange the way you describe it.  I would really need more information like the make model of the amp and the make model of the stereo your using unless its factory.

And if you really wanted to, you could take a couple of pictures of the amp and the back of the deck so that we can show people on this site what's going on.

Anton,
