Audio Systems: CD Player, factory cd, plug ins

I have a 1993 Cougar, car came with just a am/fm cassett, I bought a factory cd player that came out of a 1991 cougar, it has its own place to go in the dash, I am told that if the car did not come with the cd already in it, it would not work, the wire harness on the Radio does not have a plug for the cd player, how can I hook this up? If I get a radio cassett from a cougar that had the cd package would the wireing or the radio have plug ins for the cd player? thanks in advance Jack

Pull out the stereo in the 93 Cougar and check to see if it has a jack on the rear of it for the CD player. If the 93cougar has a jack that the CD player will plug into then the CD player should work OK. If you are not sure, please give me the complete model numbers of the stereo in the 93 Cougar and the number of the CD player and I will look over the service info to see what will work with the 93 stereo.
