Audi Repair: Audi a4 quattro, back hoes, audi a4

Question
hello,
I recentely purchased a 99' Audi a4 Avant quattro...
well, My wife tells me every time she's at work the alarm goes of several times a day. Now she works in a quite little parking lot so it's not other cars  ,  She can see her car from her desk.  There is some construction goin on next door to her work. Could it be that the back hoes are vibrating the car that much? It never happens at home or anywhere else. Except for once at the super market..and that actually could have been some one bumping into it. Some one said they thought Audi's had a sensitivity control for the alarm do you know if this is true, and if so where I can find this

I appreciate any help you can offer

Answer
Firs of all, are all windows closed? There are 2 sensors for interior monitoring if any window or sun roof is open (even a litlle) the alarm will go off any time. Some A6 and A4 have a switch witch can shut the system off but I don't know your 99 A4 has it. If it has, try to shut it off.  Also on some of them , I'm not sure if A4 has it, you can lover the sensivity of the system , but you need VAG or Audi scaner.  GOOD LUCK.        greg
