Cadillac Repair: 94 cadillac seville sts, digital speedometer, cadillac seville

QUESTION: I brought a 94 Cadillac from auction and the gauges are not operating.  I checked the fuses and all seem to be fine.  Could there be some other problem.  Also when I turn on the headlights the car chimes as if the lights where left on when the car is not on.

QUESTION: It is a analog speedometer and fuel gauge, but it is also digital too, as far as the cooling/heating temp, mileage.  Nothing works

does the digital displays work in the daytime and the night time.

As far as the chime, This will require searching for an open/shorted wire in the chime system using an electrical  schematic.

QUESTION: The entire dash does not work.  You can here the radio and switch stations but other than that the entire dash is out.

You did try pushing the DISPLAY ON/OFF button ?.

What my problem is is that there are 2 different types of illumination when you have an analog speedometer and vacuum flourescent digital displays.

Does the climate control panel which is digital light up ?.

If not, I would have to say that the instrument cluster will have to be replaced.

I can provide you with an electrical schematic to test the circuits that come into and out of the dash components if you want to test all the circuits.
