Cadillac Repair: ABS for a 92 Cadillac STS, cv joint, cadillac sts

Question
My wife had the front pads and rotors replaced and they also replaced the fluid. When she drove out the ABS warning light came on and stayed on. Sears has shirked all responsibility. I'm wondering if there is something I can do to save another trip to the dealer. I replaced the pads myself last time and I think I had the same problem. I forget how I fixed it then.

Answer
Hi Chalen, It would help to know what the code(s) that turned on the light. Make sure that the fluid level is in the full range. You might remove the 2 front tires and check to see that a wheel speed sensor wire didn't get disconnected or the wires damaged. Sometimes debris gets into the sensor or sensor ring on the outter cv joint that will cause the computer to see a differant mph signal triggering the light. And sometimes debris from inside the caliper can get pushed into the abs valveing and cause it to stick. If you don't see anything obvious then you will need to return to a differant shop that can pull codes for the abs system and fix what the code deals with. Hope that helps. Bill
