Chevrolet Repair: starting a 98 chevy tahoe, chevy tahoe, v8 engine

Question
i have a 98 Chevy Tahoe that had a fuel leak in the spider injection and so i replaced the injection system with a new setup and the vehicle still wouldn't crank so i did a tune up on it. fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor button, and i know i am getting spark so i checked the timing and got it as close as i could. spins over just fine but will not start up. any suggestions.

Answer
Hi Keith...i will assume that this is a 305 V8 engine...timing has to be set at top dead centre, computer does timing from that point...make sure your not 180 degrees out of time...pull #1 plug front one on drivers side and bring piston up to the top... then remove dist cap and see where rotor is pointing ..it should point at the #1 wire location....make sure you are getting fuel in the cyls...check for a flood condition...if you suspect it's flooded shut fuel off by pulling fuel relay and crank till flood condition gone.. re install relay and try again... hope this helps
