Chevrolet Repair: 98 Chevrolet Tracker intermittent wiper problem, chevrolet tracker, int position

Question
Hi Wayne, I have a problem with my 98 tracker wiper, if placed in the int position it does the same thing as the low position and also when I put them on off while they are "active" they don't return in the default position, I'm wondering if there's a "Wiper Intermittent relay" somewhere that can do that kind of problem ?  thanks.

Answer
HEy David,

The Intermittent wiper controller integrated circuit is integral to the combination switch.  I have run into two different scenarios on these trackers and was left scratching my head for a while trying to get the intermittent to work.
The wiper motor has 4 wires that go to the control side and a single ground.  First thing to do is make sure the ground is ok and clean it. Trust me, just do that first.
The yellow wire has 12v ALL THE TIME when the key is in the on or accessory position.  The Blue/White wire is for the park sense to the intermittent controller.  It will have 12v on it when the motor is running and 0v when it is parked.  A faulty motor can cause the motor not to park but so can a faulty multi function switch.
With the switch in the off position check for voltage on the high adn low wires on the wiper motor.  HI= blu/red LO = Blu.  There should be no voltage on either of these wires.  If there isn't and the motor is still running it is the park switch that is defective inside the motor.
