Chevrolet Repair: No crank, starter solenoid, engine cranks

Question
I have a 97 Tahoe, I have put in a new starter, not rebuilt...this was after I had put in a rebuilt, it cranked 3 times with the rebuilt, then it quit cranking period....does the same no crank with the new starter, solenoid clicks on when key is on.  Battery was suspect and was tested...good 800 amps capacity, I even jumped the battery off a running car, and even added amperage from a battery charger (125A starting amps)still no crank...nothing nada. Replaced relay with AC relay...checked fuses....haven't checked wire to solenoid for resistance....is there an inline fuse???

Answer
If the starter solenoid is making a clicking noise when trying to start it's usually a battery problem. Check battery, remove terminals and inspect for corrosion, check starter connections, check ground at engine, Check for voltage drop in positive cable to starter.

If it's not doing nothing when trying to start, check ignition crank circuit for battery voltage at the starter (small terminal) while trying to crank. If voltage is present and all the above listed items have been checked, then the starter is defective. Manually jump the starter terminals together to see if engine cranks.
