Chevrolet Repair: 2000 Venture Air Bag Warning Light:, trouble code, warning light

Hi, my air bag warning light is staying on and I had it checked at a garage and they said I would have to take it to a dealership, (which I hate to do).  The number that came up on the computer my mechanic used to check it with was B0041.  Thanks for any advice.

cars today are smart.  this is not just a trouble code, but a body trouble code.  It means:

DTC B0041 LF/Driver Side Deployment Loop Open

which means, the side air bag is not able to fire.  For what reason, it could be a bad contact.  Most mechanics are not able to fix this type of problem.  It is not only new age, it is a safety issue.  If they fix it and it doesn't work, the mechanic is liable for injury.  The dealer is most able to fix it 100% sure.
