Chrysler Repair: 99 Concorde (LH): no go from transmission, concorde lxi, 4 digit numbers

Question
My 1999 Concorde LXI has been setting through cold weather for a week. The engine starts fine but when I place it into gear I hear it shifting from park to drive but it will not move. It has been working fine. It has 150,000 on the transmission. 250,000 on the car. It seems like something is frozen. It has been sitting out side in very cold weather

Answer
Hi Mike,
I suspect that the transmission internal pressure of the hydraulic fluid is high due to the ambient temperature. I would wait for a while longer before putting it in gear to allow the internal pump and fluid to warm up, etc. Also check the level of trans fluid and if needed only add ATF+4. Warmer weather too may correct the problem. You are doing very well to have the service miles receieved on that trans, and the rest of the car as well. You also might try a fault code readout using the ignition key:"on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time. Then watch the odometer window to see if it changes to show any 4 digit numbers preceded by a P. Let me know then and we'll go from there.
