Chrysler Repair: Chrysler 2007 T&C - Stalling after fill-up, town and country chrysler, gasoline vapor

Question
Roland,
Thank you for your time in considering this questions.  I have a 2007 Town and Country, Chrysler.  Every time I stop to fill it up with fuel the van stalls out within 50 feet.  It always re-starts with no problems and does not stall again until I fill up again with fuel.  Do you have an idea of what this might be and how to fix it, so far no real good advise locally.  Thank you so much!

Answer
Hi Leslie,
There is a fixture on the top of the tank and which is part of the vapor recovery system, which is associated with collecting the gasoline vapor for internal recycling. But when you fill the tank up to the top instead of it holding vapor it instead collects gas as fluid. Then when you start the engine and begin to drive the computer seeks to recycle the 'vapor' into the engine, but instead it actually recycles the gas fluid and that goes into the intake manifold and floods the engine, so it stalls.
One thing to try would be to not fill the tank to the top if you have been doing that, but instead stop when the automatic cut-off at the pump comes into play. Or better, if you have a good idea of how much gas you need just put in a gallon less than that. If that doesn't work, it probably means one of the several hoses/valves of this vapor collection system is not working properly.
Please try what I suggest and let me know if it works better.
