Question
i have a Chrysler voyager 2002 my drivers electric window wouldn't work for ages and its decide to open now but it will not go back up how do i fix myself

thanks Wendy

Answer
Hi Wendy,
I assume that the other windows work, if not, let me know.
A single window will not work if either the contacts in the control switch are defective/dirty or the window motor is broken/flaky. You can by means of a voltmeter check the switch function and once the switch is remove you can jump voltage to the motor from the battery to test its function. If you have a voltmeter you can remove the switch gently lifting the lower edge of the switch bezed using a soft stick and then work your way around the bezel to pry it out. Once it is released and the wires are accessible I can tell you what measurements to make with the voltmeter. If the switch proves functional then you can test the motor function to verify that it is the cause of the problem. If the switch proves to be disfuncional than you could try electronic spray cleaner with its straw-tip inserted into any cracks in the switch body so as improve the conductivity of the switch contacts and thus repair its limitations. If the motor proves defective there are instructions for replacing it.
I have a half dozen or so pages from the '02 manual which show the details. If you would like a copy of those pags pleae tell me a postal mailing address. If, after you receive the pages you would be so kind as to send me three 44-cent stamps to cover my costs, tht would be appreciated.
