Chrysler Repair: Chrysler minivan wont stay running, obd ii code reader, chrysler town and country

Question
Hey Roland I have asked Kevin a question about my 96 Chrysler town and Country, the original question was that it will not stay running. I have change the fuel system completely. I have checked the fuel censors and a few more censors that I think were unnecessary and it will not stay running starts and cuts right off. Can it be the brain of the car or something different. And if it is the brain then what do I changed it but how do I reset the car with the new brain or control module." Kevin replied did the car have any codes, I told he yes when I meant to say no. So, now I'm at a total loss on this car I don't know what to do next. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank Inell

Answer
Hi Inell,
On the code issue, you have tried to use the ignition key "on-off-on-off-on and leave on" doing that in 5 seconds or less elapsed time, and do you only get two groups of 5 flashes each from the check engine light? If so, then you don't have any codes. The '96 should have an underdash socket for the OBD-II code reader if you could borrow on of those to check that way.
When you say 'cuts right off' does that mean in about 1-2 seconds, and identically each time?
If so, then that is symptomatic of the vehicle theft security system being armed against theft. Have you tried to lock/unlock both front doors to disarm it?
Let me know if either approach helps or gives more info and we can go on from there. Tell me which engine you have if relevant.
Roland
