Chrysler Repair: Key fob ineffective in busy areas, car park areas, electrical environment

Question
Hi I am emailing from London England.
I have had the car for nearly 10 years with no problems but in all that time the remote will not work properly in my local supermarket and garage and at odd times elsewhere but always in very busy car park areas. The remote has to be pressed a dozen times all round the car , i then resort to the key and then the alarm triggers and after much embarrassment the remote finally switches the alarm off.I have tried many uk advisors but to no avail, then i spotted your site and thought i would give you a try. Might it be something to do with an American electronic system not being compatable with a British electrical environment around the car , interference etc Mike

Answer
Hi Michael,
If anything is the answer I would suspect that the batteries in the fob are weak (two CR2016) such that the signal that it emits can't compete witha ambient electronic noise.
So if you haven't changed them, I would do so and see if that solves the problem.
