QUESTION: My daughters 01 pt crusier had a 700 code, was in limp mode and was told she needed an new computer. she had the computer replaced. it will start but not continue running. is there more programing needed for the key to work?

ANSWER: first of all a P700 does not mean u need a computer

second of all U must have replaced the engine computer and not the tranny computer

3rd was it a new one or a junk yard one?

well u now caused more damage then good  

U will need a brand new computer that does not have the alarm system already programed into it. The PCM u installed is looking for the alarm system that U dont have  so it will never start up.

then U will need to still fix the codes that will come back in the tranny computer what ever those codes are.
