Chrysler Repair: front power outlet not working: 06 van, cigar lighter, cigarette lighter

Question
have a 2006 Town and Country...recently the front power outlet(one where cigarette lighter goes) does not work.  Rear one still does.  The manual says the fuse is tied with the power ignition so I assume the fuse is ok.  Not sure what I should be looking for.

Answer
Hi John,
There are several possible configurations for the power outlets as to location and to whether they are powered all the time or only in the acc/run position of the key and also there are separate fuses for several of the different outlets so one could be out because of its fuse being blown and the other still OK. I can't be sure what outlet you are speaking of. But in any case check fuses #5 and #6 as well as and positive temp coefficient (PTC) fuse-like device in position #7, all in the power box under hood. If all those are OK, then let me know exactly which outlet is the issue (cigar lighter or power output, exact location?).
There is a page describing troubleshooting the outlet and also checking the ground wire from the outlet to the ground point would be appropriate. I can xerox and send those pages to you if you give me a postal address. I suspect however that you will find a fuse that is blown among the three that I listed above.
